Finding Deviljho gems is required to craft special weapons and armor (Vangis Helm). Unlike previous gems, the Deviljho gem can’t be melded and has to be found.
Check your Hunters Field Guide to see all potential drops you can get from Deviljho. The Gems have a chance to drop as rewards from slaying or capturing him. You also want to break his chest, head and tail for additional chances to get the gem drop.
To further increase the drop rate each time you go hunt, equip your palico’s plunderblade and use a voucher before you start the quest. Even with all these things in place the RNG involved in this seems to be all over the place. While some players have gotten multiple deviljo gems in one quest, other haven’t seen a gem in 10+ hunts.
